The Role
Duncraig SHS is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Humanities and Social Sciences teacher, with a particular focus on attracting applicants with experience in
ATAR Politics and Law
.




Experience teaching additional senior school subjects offered at Duncraig SHS would also be highly regarded.
These subjects include ATAR Economics, Modern History, Psychology, Geography, as well as General Ancient History and Psychology.
While experience teaching ATAR Politics and Law is highly desirable, we encourage applications from teachers with expertise in any Humanities and Social Sciences discipline and a willingness to contribute across our senior school programs
The successful applicant should be dedicated and highly motivated educators with the ability to provide high quality teaching and learning programs to meet the needs of our students.
Applicants will ideally have an excellent knowledge of the Western Australian Curriculum, be able to deliver content in an engaging manner, have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and be a highly effective team member.
Experience with Gifted and Talented students and a displayed ability to effectively differentiate for both academic extension and Students at Educational Risk (SAER) will be highly valued.
Duncraig SHS offers a range of extra curricula programs and opportunities for students, applicants who display a history and/or passion for being involved in these important complementary programs would be highly regarded.
This can include, but is not limited to, experience of, or an interest in, facilitating the Mock Trial Endorsed Programme.
The successful applicant will ideally be improvement focused and should be committed to their own ongoing professional development.
Duncraig SHS places significant focus on the quality of teaching and learning.
The school has worked collaboratively with staff and have embedded a Teaching and Learning framework and model that support best practices in the classroom and teacher development, which maximise student engagement and outcomes.
The successful applicant should have a genuine interest in working in collaboration with the Head of Learning Area (HOLA) to facilitate refinements in pedagogy,



curriculum and student achievement across Year 7 to Year 12.
Strong knowledge and skills in the effective integration of innovative and engaging Information and Communications Technology (ICT) based technologies in the classroom is important as Duncraig SHS operates a 1:1 personal ICT device policy that is firmly embedded across all learning areas.
A familiarity with online teaching and learning platforms such as SEQTA or Compass will be well regarded.
