Uplift Recruitment
Melbourne
Most SDR roles promise progression. This one actually maps it out.
Join a Melbourne-based Microsoft technology partner selling into mid-market Australian businesses across cybersecurity, data and AI, Dynamics 365, modern workplace, hybrid cloud, and managed services.
You'll join the BDM team as an SDR with a clear pathway from outbound prospecting into running your own meetings, generating revenue, and progressing toward a BDM role with your own territory and quota.
This is a serious opportunity for someone who wants to build a career in B2B technology sales.
First 6–9 months
Your focus is pipeline.
You'll be booking 10 qualified meetings per week through outbound prospecting, primarily cold calling. Alongside this, you'll shadow around 5 live customer meetings per week across discovery, demos, proposals, and closing conversations.
You'll learn how complex technology deals actually move, not just how to open the door.
Months 9–12
If you're hitting your numbers and picking up the craft, you'll start running your own meetings.
The expectation is that you're generating revenue before the end of Year 1, with a pathway into a BDM role from there.
What you'll be doing:
Booking qualified meetings with mid‐market Australian businesses
Prospecting through outbound activity, with cold calling as a key channel
Building pipeline across Microsoft solutions, cybersecurity, cloud, data, AI, and managed services
Shadowing senior salespeople in live customer meetings
Learning the full sales cycle from discovery through to close
Progressing toward running your own customer conversations and revenue opportunities
What we're looking for:
You don't need years of experience.
You may have 6–12 months in outbound sales, cold calling, SDR, appointment setting, recruitment, SaaS, or technology sales.
What matters most is attitude, coachability, and consistency.
You'll suit this role if you:
Want a long-term career in B2B technology sales
Are comfortable picking up the phone and creating opportunities
Understand that outbound sales is high‐volume work
Are curious about how businesses use technology
Listen, learn, and apply feedback quickly
Are motivated by a clear pathway into BDM
Have full Australian working rights
What's on offer:
$70,000–$80,000 base + super, depending on experience
$50 commission per qualified meeting booked
$26,000 commission at target, based on 10 qualified meetings per week
$100,000+ OTE at target
Clear pathway into a BDM role
Mentoring from a senior BDM across real customer opportunities
Exposure to the full sales cycle, not just appointment setting
Small team environment where strong performance is visible
Opportunity to sell into high-demand technology areas including cybersecurity, cloud, data, AI, Microsoft solutions, and managed services
Why this role?
This is not an SDR role where you make calls and hope progression happens one day.
You'll still need to do the outbound work. You'll still need to earn your stripes. But while you're building pipeline, you'll also be learning how real B2B technology deals are discovered, shaped, proposed, and closed.
If you're hungry to build a serious sales career and ready to do the work, this is a robust next step.
