Wivenhoe Escapes

Queensland

Wivenhoe Escapes | Bryden, Queensland
Part-time, developing into a full-time position
Wivenhoe Escapes is a newly opened private estate venue set across 550 acres of elevated countryside overlooking Lake Wivenhoe, approximately one hour from Brisbane.
Created for weddings, corporate events, leadership retreats and private celebrations, Wivenhoe Escapes offers something genuinely different: exclusive use of a remarkable rural estate, thoughtfully prepared events, warm hospitality and an experience that feels personal from the first enquiry to the final farewell.
We are looking for an experienced and highly personable Events & Client Experience Manager to join us at an exciting stage in our development.
This is a wide-ranging, hands-on role for someone who enjoys working closely with clients, bringing events to life and creating calm, well-organised experiences behind the scenes. You will support wedding couples and corporate clients throughout their journey with Wivenhoe Escapes, from initial enquiry and private venue tours through to planning, preparation and delivery.
Working closely with our Director of Operations and Head Chef, you may also help coordinate suppliers, prepare the venue and guide our event team to ensure every occasion is delivered professionally, smoothly and with genuine care.
About the role
Your responsibilities will include:
responding warmly and professionally to wedding and corporate event enquiries;
conducting private venue tours and helping prospective clients understand the full Wivenhoe Escapes experience;
preparing proposals, following up enquiries and supporting the conversion of suitable opportunities into confirmed bookings;
developing strong, trusted relationships with couples, corporate organisers and event partners;
coordinating event details, timelines, floor plans, suppliers and client requirements;

working with the Head Chef on menus, dietary requirements, service timing and event logistics;
preparing event briefs, run sheets and internal team communications;
helping ensure the venue is beautifully presented and fully prepared before each event;
briefing, coordinating and supervising casual staff during event set-up, service and pack-down;
being a calm, capable and welcoming point of contact for clients and guests on event days;
identifying opportunities to continually improve the client and guest experience; and
contributing ideas and energy as we establish Wivenhoe Escapes as one of South East Queensland's most distinctive private estate venues.
About you
You may already be working in event management, wedding coordination, venue operations or premium hospitality. More importantly, you will understand how to combine excellent organisation with warm, intuitive service.
You will ideally bring:
experience coordinating weddings, corporate events or functions;
strong client communication and relationship-building skills;
confidence conducting venue tours and discussing event options with prospective clients;
excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple events and deadlines;
a practical, hands-on approach and willingness to help wherever needed;
the ability to lead and positively direct casual event staff;
composure and sound judgement when plans change or unexpected issues arise;

strong written communication and administrative skills;
confidence using event management, customer relationship and general business software;
availability to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends;
a current driver licence and reliable transport; and
RSA and Food Handling certificates, or willingness to obtain them.
Experience in a premium venue, restaurant, hotel, wedding or corporate events environment would be highly regarded. Sales or business development experience would also be valuable, although our approach is consultative and relationship-led rather than transactional.
What we offer
This is an opportunity to join Wivenhoe Escapes at the beginning and play a meaningful part in shaping how our events, systems and client experience develop.
You will have:
a varied role across weddings, corporate events and private celebrations;
the opportunity to help build a distinctive new venue and brand;
direct input into the way our client and guest experience is designed;
a supportive working relationship with the Director of Operations, Head Chef and owners;
an extraordinary rural setting in which to work; along with working from home arrangements and
the potential for the position to grow from part-time into a full-time role as the event calendar develops.
The initial working pattern will be negotiated with the successful applicant and will include a combination of weekday planning and client appointments, together with event-day work. Flexibility will be important, as event hours will vary.
To apply, please send your résumé and a short covering letter telling us about your experience, what attracts you to Wivenhoe Escapes and the kind of role you are looking for.
