About the opportunity We are looking for a Senior Technical Project Manager for a fixed term 12 month contract Purpose Own delivery oversight of vendor building the software development pipeline for Australia Post's NextGen handheld scanner program.
Hold the vendor to scope, schedule, quality and cost, and ensure their output integrates cleanly into AusPost's operational and systems landscape.
Key responsibilities Manage the vendor engagement day-to-day — governance cadence, delivery planning, priorities, dependencies and escalations.
Oversee the development pipeline: release planning, quality and defect management, and readiness for production across the scanner software.
Manage integration into AusPost backend/legacy systems, including where documentation is thin or absent.
Run stakeholder engagement across AusPost operations, IT and the vendor — communicating clearly at all levels including executive.
Own commercial delivery levers: statements of work, change requests, and negotiating scope/priority for maximum business value.
Drive risk, issue and dependency management, with regular reporting into program governance / steering.
Coordination of the handheld testing and platform management (ie SOTI)/Telstra Engagement.
Must-have experience 15+ years technical project / program management delivering software into production.
Proven vendor and delivery management — running external development partners and holding them accountable to outcomes.




Mobile device / handheld scanner / field-mobility program experience (single-device, single-app rollouts at scale).
Integrating new applications into old, often undocumented, backend systems.
Strong stakeholder management to executive level; comfortable turning around strained vendor relationships.
Fluent across delivery methods — Agile, Waterfall and hybrid; PRINCE2 / PMBOK grounding.
Highly desirable Postal / logistics / supply-chain domain knowledge; Australia Post exposure.
Direct familiarity with E2Open (formerly BluJay) platforms and/or the NextGen program What else is in it for you?
