We are looking for a full-time Chef/Cook to join our team.
Salary Range: $70,000 to $90,000 per annum Location: Kingswood, NSW **** Role: Full time Main responsibilities include but not limited to: Prepare and cook meal in accordance with The Valley Junction's menu, recipes and quality standards.
Prepare café-style and contemporary dishes suited to The Valley Junction's varied all-day dining menu and customer preferences.
Oversee, coordinate food preparation and cooking activities to ensure meals are served efficiently during busy trading periods.
Meticulously plate and present each dish to enhance dining experience Check the freshness, quality and suitability of ingredients before they are used in food preparation.
Prepare à la carte meals and modify dishes where required to accommodate allergies, intolerances and dietary preferences.
Maintain consistency in portion sizes, presentation, flavour and overall food quality across all menu items.
Contribute ideas for seasonal specials, menu updates and recipe improvements based on customer demand and ingredient availability.
Monitor food stock levels, assist with ordering supplies and minimise unnecessary food waste and spoilage.
Support, guide and train kitchen staff to maintain an organised and efficient workflow during service.
Monitor food and labour costs and assist management with practical cost-control measures.
Oversee day-to-day kitchen operations and address preparation, staffing or service issues as they arise.
Maintain compliance with food safety, hygiene, sanitation and workplace health and safety requirements.
Work closely with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service and timely delivery of customer orders.
To succeed in the role, you must meet below criteria's Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in a fast-paced restaurant Minimum qualification of Certificate III, Certificate IV in commercial cookery or diploma in hospitality management Minimum 1 year of Australian work experience in a similar restaurant style cooking is mandatory Possess understanding of food safety and HACCP Skills and Attributes: Culinary skills Robust time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently Focus on food quality, consistency, and presentation.
Expertise in HACCP and maintaining a sanitary kitchen.
Strong skills in collaborating with staff and management.
