Location: Fitzroy, Melbourne, VIC Job Type: Casual, locum Duration: Approximately 20 sessions (from 21st July or as soon as possible) The Opportunity This isn't your typical sonography role.
Aussie Locums is proud to partner with WaveWise Analytics and the Australian Catholic University (ACU) to recruit an experienced Sonographer for the innovative FLOW-MAP Study.
This pioneering research project is investigating whether changes in blood flow through vessels of the head and neck can be used to detect early neurological deterioration and ultimately contribute to the development of a new continuous brain monitoring technology.

The Role Working with healthy volunteers, you will: Perform baseline Doppler ultrasound assessments of the extracranial vessels, including the carotid arteries.
Conduct continuous Doppler measurements throughout a structured research protocol (full training provided).
Screen participants and obtain a brief medical history.
Record findings using standardised research documentation.
Work collaboratively with the Principal Investigator and research team to ensure accurate, high-quality data collection.
Essential Requirements To be considered for this prospect, you must: Hold current ASAR registration.
Be competent performing carotid Doppler ultrasound examinations.
Be eligible to work in Australia.
Be willing to complete Good Clinical Practice (GCP) training prior to commencement (if not already certified).
Have excellent attention to detail and the ability to work within a structured research protocol.
Be available to work on-site at ACU, Fitzroy, Melbourne.
Desirable Experience While not essential, experience in the following will be highly regarded: Vascular ultrasound.
Clinical research or research studies.
Working within multidisciplinary healthcare or research teams.
Commitment Location: Australian Catholic University (ACU), Fitzroy, Melbourne.
Training: Approximately two days prior to participant recruitment.
Study Period: Late July to September ****.
Approximately 20 participant sessions across 20 working days.
4 weeks | 5 days per week | 4 – 5 hours per day Please note: This role is best suited to Melbourne-based sonographers or those living within commuting distance of Fitzroy, as travel and accommodation are not provided.
