In-House Part time Tax Agent / Accountant
Maica | Melbourne, VIC | Part-time (3 days per week)
About the Role
Maica is looking for a registered Tax Agent and experienced accountant to join us on a part-time basis for 3 days per week. This is a genuine "in-house tax agent" role: you'll lodge our returns, manage our tax position, and be the trusted point of contact for tax and accounting matters.
This role suits someone who wants the variety and autonomy of managing a company's tax affairs end-to-end, with the flexibility of part-time hours.
Key Responsibilities
Annual tax returns:
Prepare and lodge annual tax returns for both corporate and personal entities associated with Maica.
Div 7A loan management:
Monitor, manage, and ensure compliance of Division 7A loans, including minimum repayments and documentation.
Monthly invoicing:
Manage monthly invoicing on behalf of Maica using Xero.
Bookkeeping (optional):
Maintain the day-to-day bookkeeping of Maica's Xero instance, if within scope for the right candidate.
Tax advisory support:
Act as the go-to person for tax queries raised by Maica directors,



providing clear, practical guidance.
Client budget support:
Assist with budget management for Maica's clients as required.
About You
Registered Tax Agent with the Tax Practitioners Board (required), as you will be lodging returns and acting as Maica's official tax agent.
Solid experience preparing and lodging tax returns for both companies and individuals.
Strong working knowledge of Division 7A and its compliance requirements.
Proficient in Xero, including invoicing and (ideally) bookkeeping.
Comfortable working autonomously and directly with company directors.
Based in or around Melbourne, with availability for on-site or hybrid work as agreed.
