Your role at St John of God Murdoch Hospital
SJG Murdoch Hospital are now seeking enthusiastic and motivated Enrolled and Registered Nurses with Anaesthetics, Scrub Scout and/or PACU experience to join our organisation.
As a member of our team, you will be responsible for the provision of safe and compassionate clinical care at all stages of the perioperative journey, from pre-surgery, in theatre and post-surgery.
You will experience different aspects of the entire patient surgical journey, which is both exciting and extremely rewarding.
As an Enrolled Nurse, you will be under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse.
Our Surgicentre is a specialist standalone day hospital operating between 6am to 9pm.
Built to encompass the growing demand for day surgery it provides a convenient and popular alternative to a stay in a private hospital.

You will be part of an experienced multidisciplinary team delivering care across a diverse range of surgical specialties.
Primary caseloads currently include orthopaedics, ophthalmology, gynaecology, and minor maxillofacial surgery, with exposure to many other specialties.

Enrolled and Registered Nurses with Anaesthetics, PACU and/or Scrub Scout experience are encouraged to apply.
Anaesthetic Technician applications will also be welcomed.
Permanent part time and casual positions are currently available.

The Enrolled Nurse Position
Function within legal and registration constraints in relation to enrolled nursing practice.
Maintain and develops clinical skills in order to deliver patient care appropriate to level of competence.
Deliver a high standard of patient care utilizing appropriate resources cost effectively.
Adhere to and supports hospital policies, procedures and standards.
Act as the patient's advocate and protects the rights of individuals.
Provide patient education and participates in discharge planning, where applicable or as required.
Participate in quality improvement activities.
Demonstrate a courteous manner to internal and external customers.
The Registered Nurse Position
Assesses plans, delivers and evaluates patient care, seeking support from senior staff as required.
Promotes and contributes to effective communication, facilitating teamwork and cooperation within the department and within the hospital.
Provides patient education and acts as a resource where appropriate.
Supports and supervises staff and students as required, including orientating and precepting staff.
Contributes to the achievement of Hospital and Clinical Services operational objectives.
You will hold registration with Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) as an Enrolled Nurse or Registered Nurse.
You will demonstrate commitment to quality patient care and satisfaction, along with well-developed interpersonal and relationship building skills.
To succeed you will have an ability to work effectively and harmoniously within the multi-disciplinary care team, with a commitment to ongoing education and professional development.
Minimum 2 years previous Procedural, Anaesthetic, Scrub Scout, PACU experience within a hospital environment is preferred and postgraduate qualification will be highly regarded.

Enrolled Nurse Salary:
