Wreck Bay Aboriginal Community Council (WBACC) is seeking a passionate and energetic Diploma-qualified
Early Childhood Educator

Gudjahgahmiamia MACS Early Learning Centre

Located in the heart of the Wreck Bay Community, our small 30-place centre supports children aged 6 months to 5 years in a welcoming, culturally connected and beautiful bushland setting.

About the Role
Fixed-term position commencing September **** and concluding on the last day of care in December ****
Subject to a three month probabtion period during which the Gudjahgahmiamia Director will work through the performance appraisal form with the successful applicant
Monday to Thursday: 8:30 am–3:30 pm and Friday: 8:30 am–1:30 pm
Paid staff meeting one afternoon each fortnight
Extension may be considered following a review in November ****, subject to operational needs
Employment under the Children's Services Award ****
About You
You will be a caring, capable and reflective educator who can:
Build positive, respectful relationships with children, families,



colleagues and other services
Communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people
Understand issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
Develop, implement and evaluate high-quality educational programs and children's portfolios
Apply robust knowledge of early childhood development
Follow—and support others to follow—relevant regulations, legislation and centre procedures
Contribute to continuous improvement across the centre
Demonstrate sound time management, delegation, problem-solving and computer skills
Apply knowledge of QIAS, work health and safety, and child protection requirements
Essential Requirements
Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care, or equivalent, recognised in Australia
Current First Aid Certificate, or willingness to obtain one
Current ACT Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) registration, or to obtain one
Police check issued within the past six months, or willingness to obtain one
A successful ACT WWVP application and ongoing registration are mandatory.
All staff must provide evidence they are a fit and proper person to work with children for daycare licensing purposes.
A three-month probationary period applies, including a performance appraisal with the Gudjahgahmiamia Director.
All qualifications must be verified and recognised in Australia.
