The
Russian Community School (ACT)
is seeking a dynamic and energetic educator to join our
Saturday community language program
.
Now in its third year, our School is a registered member of both
ACT Playgroups
and the
ACT Community Language Schools Association
.
We offer a warm, friendly, and supportive community environment.
This is a casual position
with lessons held on
Saturdays during the ACT school terms
.
The successful candidate will receive training in our curriculum and ongoing support from our experienced team.
Additional flexible opportunities may also be available.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the Russian language program for young children.
Deliver half-day lessons on Saturdays based on an existing curriculum and lesson plans.
Foster a positive, engaging, and inclusive learning environment.
Essential Qualities:
Native-like proficiency in Russian.
Experience caring for or spending time with young children (e.g.,
as a babysitter, older sibling, or in a playgroup).
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a community-driven program.
Willingness to obtain or already hold a
Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP)
card (mandatory for the role).
Desirable Qualities:
Pedagogical or linguistic training.
Experience guiding or working with children in an educational or group setting.
Remuneration:
Pay is commensurate with qualifications, experience, and workload.
