Salary: $204,936 - $274,969 (pa, pro rata for part-time appointments)

Potential total package value of $389,302 to $497,407 (pro rata part-time and inclusive of additional incentives and allowances) dependent on the level of experience and participation.
Indicative Base Package inclusive of:
l Management allowance - Level two
l Superannuation (12.5%)
l Private Practice Allowance – Scheme A
l Professional development allowances
l On-call allowance 17.4%
l Mobile Phone allowance
l Generous leave provisions, including up to 4 weeks training/education leave and up to 5 weeks annual leave per annum
l Annual Leave Loading 17.5%
Note: Starting base salary will be negotiated within this classification for the successful candidate, depending on experience and expertise.
About the Role:
Position Overview
North Canberra Hospital (NCH) is looking for a Clinical Director, Division of Medicine to start as soon as possible for a period of five years at 0.5 FTE.




The Clinical Director Medicine plays a significant leadership role in supporting the delivery of safe, sustainable, and high-quality healthcare services across the Medicine Stream within the Division of Critical Care and Medicine.
The role provides professional leadership to the medical workforce and contributes to robust clinical governance, workforce planning, and risk management.
The position requires the ability to balance strategic, operational, and tactical priorities to support service delivery across a portfolio of medicine sub specialities.
A key focus of the role is strengthening workforce capability and experience through effective leadership, workforce development, talent attraction and retention, and fostering a positive and supportive workplace culture.
The Clinical Director works collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, executive leadership, and key stakeholders to ensure services remain responsive to the needs of the community while maintaining high standards of governance and patient care.
This is an exciting time with the North Canberra Hospital undergoing a transformation to deliver on new and expanded services in a current hospital expected to open around ****.
This is a new billion-dollar hospital on Canberra's northside.
The position holder is expected to operate within the Public Sector Management Act *****), the ACT Public Service Code of Conduct and the qualified requirements specified by the appointee's Specialist College.
The preferred candidate maybe considered for a conjoint position in ANU at an academic level commensurate with the candidate's qualifications and experience.
The academic position will be held for the duration of the Canberra Health Services employment and will be subject to regular performance reviews.




No remuneration is attached to the University position.
The employee will be responsible to the University on academic matters and to The Canberra Hospital & Health Services / Canberra Health Services for clinical/ research matters.

l Hold Specialist registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency
l Meet credentialing requirements and receive an Endorsed scope of clinical practice from the Medical Dental Appointments Advisory Committee (MDAAC)

l Comply with Canberra Health Services Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination policy.
