OUR FACILITY:
Our near-new workshops and retail store are based in Stapylton (Yatala), Queensland, conveniently located just off the M1 Motorway.
We are seeking an experienced, positive and reliable Welder/Fabricator to join our friendly team.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities
You will step into a hands-on Welder/Fabricator role within our modern, near-new fabrication facility.
Working closely with the Leading Hand, Production Manager and senior team members, you will play an important role in delivering quality fabrication work and meeting production schedules.
This role involves welding and fabricating a range of components, including stainless steel fuel tanks, tubular machine frames, base plates, brackets and a variety of other custom-fabricated components.
You will be involved in custom sheet metal work, including a range of light to medium fabrication projects.
A range of fabrication tasks and techniques, including cutting with a guillotine, folding with a pan brake, drilling, MIG welding mild steel, and TIG welding stainless steel and aluminium.
Work in your own large dedicated work bay with tools provided.
Full-time role with stable, consistent Monday to Friday hours, 7:00am–4:00pm.
Assist team members with the manufacture and custom fit-out of machinery, carrying out fabrication work as required on each job.
Carry out other metal fabrication duties, i.e. marking out, grinding, drilling, and other workshop tasks required for each job.
Take an active role within the fabrication team to ensure production and delivery schedules are met.
Ability to read and understand drawings, follow job specifications and work orders.
Assist team members with the other day to day workshop and fabrication duties.
This is a full time position, stable employment with a reputable company.
Skills & Experience
Applicants must be qualified Welder/Fabricator tradespeople with a relevant trade certificate and proven post-trade industry experience (Certificate III Engineering – Fabrication Trade).
Demonstrated ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications, identifying requirements and ensuring work is completed to the required standards.
Excellent MIG and TIG welding skills are essential for this position.
Experience in assembly, fabrication and welding, with a background in light to medium fabrication.
Ability to use a variety of tools and techniques including experience with hand tools, machinery e.g, pan brake, guillotine, welders.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to achieve a high-quality product.
A positive, happy and mature attitude, with a strong focus on being reliable, punctual and professional.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team, while being confident in your work and capable of working unsupervised.
Ability to manage your time efficiently and meet deadlines when required.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to follow directions.
Ability to maintain a clean, safe and organised workshop environment on a daily basis.
A current driver's licence and reliable transport are essential for this position.
A current Forklift licence (LF) is essential for this position.
Applicants must provide their own quality welding helmet suitable for MIG and TIG welding.
