We are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Hydrogeologist for our Tier 1 mining client's Engineering Team located in Perth.
12 Month contract with possibility of extension.
As a Senior Hydrogeologist, you will lead and deliver hydrogeological investigations, assessments, and technical solutions for mining and infrastructure projects.
Working within a multidisciplinary engineering team, you will support groundwater resource evaluation, borefield design, regulatory approvals, and environmental compliance, while providing technical leadership in groundwater data analysis, sustainable water supply, and impact assessment.
Qualifications
BSc in Geology, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
MSc or postgraduate qualification in Hydrogeology will be viewed favourably.
Minimum 8 years' experience in hydrogeology and/or water resource management.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct hydrogeological assessments to identify and develop groundwater resources.
Assessments may include water supply investigations, hydrogeological impact assessments (including numerical groundwater modelling), water quality assessments, and other related water management studies.
Plan and manage site investigations, including groundwater exploration drilling, production and monitoring bore installation, aquifer testing, and groundwater quality and quantity monitoring.
Collect, analyse, manage, and interpret groundwater and site investigation data.
Assess options for, and contribute to the design of, water supply systems, production and monitoring borefields, and wastewater disposal systems.
Prepare high-quality technical reports and presentations summarising investigations, findings, and recommendations.
Undertake risk assessments relating to water management, environmental impacts, and natural hazards.
Provide technical support to multidisciplinary teams, including project engineers, environmental and approvals specialists, consultants, and contractors.




Prepare project scopes, technical specifications, and other technical documentation to a high professional standard.
Support permitting, approvals, and licence compliance across relevant jurisdictions.
Experience and Skills Required
Experience in hydrogeological assessments and investigations, drilling programmes, groundwater modelling, and/or groundwater risk assessments.
Proficiency with GIS is essential.
Experience with industry-standard hydrogeological software such as MODFLOW and Leapfrog is advantageous.
Strong data management, analysis, and interpretation skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a high level of attention to detail.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to develop practical and innovative solutions.
Knowledge of Australian (particularly Western Australian) water licensing, permitting, and regulatory approval processes is desirable.
If you are successful for this position you will need to provide a
current national police clearance and pass a full medical.
Must have full rights to work in Australia.
