About the role
We have an opportunity for an experienced Human Resources Support Officer to join the Aboriginal Legal Service of Western Australia (ALSWA), Perth office.
This is an important position reporting to the Assistant Manager, Human Resources and requires a person who is reliable, highly organised and self-motivated.
Knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture, society and the issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people is required.
Key responsibilities include:
Prepare employment and onboarding documents
Liaise with hiring managers to ensure a positive recruitment experience
Maintain candidate communication and provide strong candidate care
Updating HRM database with new hire data
Assist with maintaining HR compliance registers and ensure accurate records are kept
Work collaboratively with team members while confidently managing tasks independently
Assist recruitment with end‐to‐end recruitment activities, including job posting, screening, interview scheduling and process onboarding
Provide general HR support across the team, including assistance with projects and day‐to‐day HR queries
About You
To be considered for this role, you will need to meet the following criteria:
Experience in providing recruitment/HR administrative support in a similar role.
Demonstrated ability and commitment to working independently or as part of a team.
Good communications skills, both written and verbal.
Valuable organisational and time management skills with the ability to work under pressure, problem analysis and resolution.
Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion.
Experience in the use of Microsoft Windows applications and databases.
Knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture, society and the issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people is required.
Desirable:
Experience in use of HRM system
