The Role
Reporting to the Events Lead and working alongside the Events Officer, the Events Assistant provides hands-on and administrative support across Football West and Sam Kerr Football Centre events.
This is a varied role where no two days are the same.
One day you could be supporting the delivery of a community football event, the next assisting with event administration, coordinating equipment and logistics, or preparing for an upcoming tournament or function.
This is a casual role working approximately 2–3 days per week, with weekend availability across both Saturdays and Sundays essential.
It's a great opportunity for someone currently studying Event Management or a similar qualification who is looking to gain practical experience alongside their studies.
What you'll be doing:
As our Events Assistant, you'll support the Events team with the preparation and delivery of events across Football West and the Sam Kerr Football Centre.
Your responsibilities will include:
Assisting with the setup, delivery and pack down of Football West and Sam Kerr Football Centre events.
Supporting event logistics including equipment, venue requirements, catering and other operational needs.
Providing administrative support including event documentation, participant information and supplier details.




Assisting with event-day enquiries and providing a high level of customer service to participants, guests, stakeholders and venue users.
Supporting the Events team with suppliers, contractors, volunteers and event staffing requirements.
Working closely with internal teams to help ensure event requirements are communicated and delivered.
Assisting with maintaining event equipment and ensuring it is stored safely and neatly following events.
Contributing to a safe, professional and positive event environment.
About You
You're organised, reliable and enjoy being part of a busy, hands-on team.
You have a positive, customer-focused approach and are happy to get involved wherever needed.
You may already have some experience in events, sport, hospitality or customer service, or be studying Event Management or a similar qualification and looking to gain practical experience.
You'll bring:
Currently studying or completed a Diploma in Events Management or similar qualification
Some experience in events, sport, hospitality, customer service or a similar setting would be advantageous.
Current study towards a Diploma in Event Management or a similar qualification would be highly regarded.
Good organisational and administrative skills with strong attention to detail.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
A positive and customer-focused approach.
The ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Confidence using Microsoft Office.
Availability to work across both Saturdays and Sundays as required.
An interest in football, sport or events would be highly regarded.
What you'll need
Eligibility to work in Australia
Current WA Driver's Licence




Working with Children Check (or ability to obtain)
National Police Clearance valid within one month (or ability to obtain)
First Aid Certificate (or ability to obtain)
Availability to work approximately 2–3 days per week
Availability to work both Saturdays and Sundays, as well as other hours based on event requirements
