Reporting lines are short, decisions are made quickly, and the person in this seat will have direct exposure to how the business actually operates, not a layer removed from it.What's On OfferSalary range $160,000 to $190,000 plus super, subject to experienceGenuine ownership of the tax function from day one, not a support seat underneath someone else's judgementDirect exposure to senior stakeholders, with reporting lines short enough that decisions and context reach this seat quicklyA business with a long term, patient approach to capital, offering stability rare in more transactional environmentsScope to shape and improve the month end and quarter end process as the function matures, rather than inheriting a fixed way of workingA technical role with genuine variety, spanning consolidation, provisioning, returns, and judgement calls that sit outside routine reportingThe RoleReviews monthly and quarterly management accounts ahead of finalisation, checking treatment, accruals, and variances before they go to senior stakeholdersOwns the group tax consolidation process from end to end, including the mechanics of bringing entity level positions together at a group levelReviews tax provisions each reporting period,
working through the judgement calls on uncertain positions rather than simply carrying prior period treatment forwardPrepares and lodges income tax returns for the group, managing timelines and documentation without needing oversight on the technical detailActs as the point of reference on technical accounting treatment across the group, fielding questions from within the finance team and resolving them directlyWorks through consolidation adjustments and intercompany eliminations across the group's entity structure as part of the standard reporting cycleIdentifies and manages tax risk areas proactively, rather than waiting for external audit or an ATO review to surface themBuilds and refines process documentation for the tax and reporting cycle as the function matures, reducing reliance on institutional memoryLiaises with external advisors and auditors where required on technical positions, representing the business's view rather than deferring wholesaleContributes to the accuracy and timeliness of the broader monthly and quarterly close, beyond the tax specific componentsBackground RequiredCA or equivalent, with genuine post qualification depth, not qualification aloneDirect hands on experience with tax consolidation and provision review, evidenced through past return preparation, not oversight from a distanceComfortable operating in a business where reporting spans multiple entities and structuresStrong technical accounting judgement, able to work through positions independently rather than defer them upwardPrior exposure to a private or institutionally backed ownership structure is well regarded, though not essentialAbout weave.
