Veterinary Nurse (Part-Time) | Greencross Vets Maitland | Hunter Region, NSW

Greencross Maitland is looking for an experienced and qualified Veterinary Nurse to join our team on a part time basis, working a minimum of 20 hours per week, with the opportunity to work up to 38 hours per week depending on your availability and clinic needs.
This is a varied role that combines both veterinary nursing and reception responsibilities, making it perfect for a nurse who enjoys building relationships with clients while delivering exceptional patient care.
The role will also include one Saturday every four weeks as part of a shared roster.

About the Role
As a Veterinary Nurse at Greencross Maitland, you'll play an integral role in supporting our veterinarians, caring for patients, and delivering exceptional service to our clients.
Your responsibilities will include:
Assisting veterinarians during consultations, diagnostics, treatments, and proceduresSurgical preparation and theatre assistanceMonitoring anaesthesia and supporting patient recoveryAdministering medications and treatmentsCollecting samples and performing pathology testingProviding nursing care for hospitalised patientsMaintaining accurate patient recordsEducating and supporting clients regarding their pet's health and wellbeingReception duties including appointment scheduling, client enquiries, admissions, discharges, and paymentsSupporting the day-to-day operation and workflow of the clinicMaintaining high standards of cleanliness and infection controlThis is a busy and rewarding role where you'll have the opportunity to utilise both your clinical and customer service skills every day.
About You
We're looking for someone who:
Holds a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing (or equivalent qualification)Has 2+ years clinical veterinary nursing experienceIs confident performing both nursing and reception dutiesHas strong animal handling and patient care skillsIs confident monitoring anaesthesia and supporting surgical proceduresHas excellent communication and customer service abilitiesIs organised, efficient, and capable of managing competing prioritiesEnjoys working both independently and as part of a collaborative teamBrings a positive attitude, strong work ethic,
and genuine passion for veterinary careExperience with RxWorks is advantageous but not essential.
