The island is one of the closest Whitsunday islands to the mainland (Airlie Beach) with spectacular 30-minute ferry ride to work each day.
This is an key role focused on ensuring the safety and security of our guests, staff, property and facilities, while helping to maintain the relaxed and welcoming atmosphere our resort is known for.
About the role
Conducting regular security patrols of the resort, guest areas and surrounding facilities
Monitoring CCTV and security systems
Managing access to restricted areas and monitoring site security
Responding promptly to medical incidents and emergencies
Providing first aid within the scope of current training and certification
Assessing situations and determining when further medical assistance is required
Contacting and liaising with emergency services where necessary
Assisting with the safe management of guests, staff or visitors during medical emergencies
Recording and reporting first aid incidents in accordance with resort procedures
Supporting the resort's emergency response and evacuation procedures
Conducting and assisting with investigations into security incidents, complaints, theft, property damage and other matters as required
Gathering information, reviewing CCTV footage and preparing clear and accurate investigation reports




Maintaining confidentiality and exercising sound judgement when handling sensitive matters
Assisting with emergency procedures and coordinating with relevant emergency services when required
Monitoring and reporting suspicious or unusual activity
Supporting the safety and wellbeing of guests, staff and contractors
Assisting with after-hours security and responding to alarms or other security issues
Working closely with resort management and other team members to maintain a safe environment
Providing a professional and approachable presence for guests and staff
About you
Reliable, responsible and trustworthy
Calm and confident when dealing with unexpected situations
Professional and approachable when interacting with guests
Confident working autonomously, with the initiative and judgement to respond effectively to situations as they arise
Able to conduct investigations objectively and discreetly
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Comfortable reviewing CCTV and gathering information
Physically capable of conducting regular patrols around the resort
Available to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends or public holidays when required
The must haves
Certificate II Security Operations
A current and relevant Security Licence appropriate to the duties of the position (min Class 1 Security Providers Licence)
A current First Aid Certificate
Relevant CO2 / carbon dioxide safety training or certification, where applicable to the resort environment
Previous experience working in security, preferably within a resort, hospitality, tourism or remote-site environment
A current driver's licence, where required for the role
