About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and versatile
Dispensary & DAA Technician / Pharmacy Assistant
to join our team.
This is a varied, hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working across different areas of a community pharmacy rather than being limited to one particular function.
The successful applicant will be involved in
Dose Administration Aid (DAA) packing
, provide support within the
dispensary
, and assist on the
pharmacy floor
as required.
Flexibility is an important part of this position.
When the dispensary becomes busy, you will be expected to assist with prescription processing and dispensing workflow.
When additional support is required on the shop floor, you will assist customers and undertake general Pharmacy Assistant duties.
We are looking for someone who understands that a successful community pharmacy operates as one team and is willing to step into whichever area requires support.
Key Responsibilities
DAA Packing & Management
Accurately pack Dose Administration Aids in accordance with pharmacy procedures
Assist with the preparation and maintenance of DAA patient profiles and medication information
Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail throughout the packing process
Assist with the coordination of DAA packing cycles and associated workflow




Identify discrepancies or medication-related concerns and promptly refer these to the pharmacist
Maintain an organised, clean and efficient DAA packing setting
Assist with DAA stock and consumable management as required
Dispensary Support
Assist with prescription processing and dispensing workflow during busy periods
Enter and process prescriptions using pharmacy dispensing systems within the scope of the role
Select and prepare medications for pharmacist checking
Assist with dispensary stock management, replenishment and expiry control
Maintain an organised and efficient dispensary environment
Refer clinical enquiries and matters requiring professional judgement to the pharmacist
Pharmacy Assistant & Customer Service
Provide friendly, professional and efficient customer service
Assist customers with pharmacy, over-the-counter and general health products within your level of training
Refer customers to the pharmacist when appropriate
Operate point-of-sale systems and process transactions accurately
Answer telephone enquiries and assist with customer requests
Assist with stock replenishment, merchandising, pricing and general store presentation
Support the wider pharmacy team during busy periods
What We're Looking For
We are looking for someone who is:
Experienced in community pharmacy
Comfortable working across DAA packing, dispensary and customer service
Accurate and methodical,



particularly when working with medications
Able to work efficiently while maintaining attention to detail
Friendly, confident and comfortable interacting with customers
Reliable, punctual and well organised
Able to recognise priorities and move between different areas of the pharmacy as workload changes
Comfortable working in a busy team environment
Willing to take responsibility for their work and contribute wherever assistance is required
Experience & Qualifications
Previous
community pharmacy experience is highly desirable
, particularly experience involving dispensary support or DAA packing.
Experience with pharmacy dispensing and DAA software will be highly regarded.
Certificate II or III in Community Pharmacy, dispensary technician training or equivalent experience will also be viewed favourably.
Applicants who have strong community pharmacy experience but have not previously worked across all three areas are still encouraged to apply where they are willing and capable of undertaking further training.
