About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Automotive Technician to take on a hands-on role within our workshop.
The successful candidate will be confident working on European vehicles or open to further development in this area.
From time to time, the role may also require working Saturdays and reasonable overtime to meet business and customer needs.
Duties
Perform scheduled logbook servicing in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
Conduct e-safety inspections (pink slips), subject to relevant qualification.
Carry out general diagnostics and fault finding and accurately assess vehicle repair and maintenance requirements.
Repair and maintain suspension systems.
Service and repair braking systems.
Complete wheel alignments and tyre fitting to manufacturer standards.
Perform air-conditioning regas, repairs and maintenance, subject to relevant qualification.
Test drive vehicles to ensure repairs have been completed satisfactorily.
Communicate technical information to customers in a professional and transparent manner.
Assist with preparing and presenting clear, easy-to-understand solutions and quotes to customers.
Maintain accurate and detailed records of work performed.
Mentor, train and support junior technicians (where applicable).
Maintain high workshop standards in safety, quality and efficiency.
Work collaboratively with the team to meet productivity and customer service targets.
About You
Australian citizenship or permanent residency is required for this position.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Minimum relevant automotive trade qualification (Certificate III in Automotive Mechanical Technology or equivalent).
Several years of experience as a qualified automotive technician / mechanic working in either a dealership or private workshop.
Experience across key manufacturers including Volkswagen, Audi, Porsche, Volvo, BMW and Skoda is highly desirable.
A minimum of five years' experience as a qualified automotive technician is required for this position.
A current Motor Vehicle Tradesperson Certificate and unrestricted Australian (Class C) driver's licence.
Proven experience across a wide range of mechanical repairs and servicing.
Experience working on European vehicles or a genuine willingness to develop in this area.
Clear and professional communication.
A high standard of workmanship with strong attention to detail.
A reliable, punctual approach and pride in the quality of your work.
Comfortable navigating and utilising internal systems, software platforms and mobile applications.
A commitment to maintaining a safe, clean and organised workshop.
Your own basic hand tools and toolbox.
Authorised e-Safety (pink slip) inspection accreditation (or willingness to obtain).
Automotive air-conditioning (A/C) qualification or refrigerant handling licence (or willingness to obtain).
Availability to work some Saturdays as required.
