Location and HospitalThe Royal Hobart Hospital (RHH) is the largest hospital in Tasmania with approximately 500 beds and is the state‐wide referral centre for numerous tertiary services.
It is an accredited Level 3 teaching hospital and offers services in all major medical and surgical specialties.Department OverviewThe Department of General and Acute Care Medicine is the largest inpatient medical unit, hosting ***** inpatients and admitting ***** per day across five Acute Medical teams, including a Rapid Assessment Medical Unit (RAMU) and a unit based in the Emergency Medicine department.DutiesThe Registrar is responsible for the day‐to‐day management of inpatients and outpatients within the hospital and provides after‐hours emergency cover at the hospital.Essential RequirementsRegistration or eligibility for registration with the Medical Board of AustraliaCurrent Tasmanian Working with Children Registration (where applicable and as determined by individual position requirements)Membership of a physician training program is not essential,



but registration to practice in either Australia or NewZealand is essentialAccreditation for BPT terms can be arranged through the local Directors of Physician EducationCurrency with ALS/ACLS (a refresher course every 3 years)Desirable RequirementsCurrent Driver's Licence (if applicable to allocated role)Salary$138,978 - $194,675 per annum, prorata + 12% superannuation + access to salary packaging.
