Spectrum Surface Treatment is looking for an experienced
Abrasive Blaster
to join our growing team.
We are a busy industrial blasting and protective coatings company working across the
mining, infrastructure, structural steel and industrial sectors
.
We're looking for someone who can work efficiently, maintain a high standard of surface preparation and contribute to a productive workshop team.
The Role
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
Abrasive blasting of structural steel and industrial equipment
Blasting to specified standards, including
Sa 2.5, Sa 3
Achieving specified surface profiles
Preparing steel for protective coating application
Checking completed work for cleanliness and quality
Masking and protecting areas where required
Operating blasting equipment safely and efficiently
General maintenance and cleaning of blasting equipment
Moving and positioning steel for blasting & painting
Maintaining a clean and protected work area
Working with supervisors, painters and QA personnel to keep jobs moving through production
Unloading and loading trucks as required
About You
Ideally, you will have:
Previous abrasive blasting experience
Experience working with structural steel or industrial equipment
Good understanding of blast cleanliness standards and surface preparation
Ability to work efficiently without compromising quality
Strong safety awareness
Good reliability and attendance
Ability to work as part of a fast-paced production team
Forklift and/or dogging/rigging tickets are advantageous
