An exciting opportunity has become available for qualified Christian educator to join our Secondary College at the beginning of ****.
We are looking for a dedicated full-time Head of Learning Area – Music whose primary role will be located at the Kenwick campus.
This leadership role offers the opportunity to shape and grow a vibrant whole-College music program, providing leadership and mentoring to teachers across both of our Primary schools and our Secondary school, as well as our team of instrumental tutors.
The successful applicant will inspire students to see that their musical gifts are not simply talents to be admired, but gifts to be stewarded for the glory of God and the blessing of others through a music education that is distinctly Christian in character and purpose.

About the Position
The Head of Learning Area will be responsible for leading and managing the effective operation of the designated Learning Area of Music at the Secondary Campus in Kenwick, Perth, Western Australia.
An key focus is ensuring the effective delivery of a Christ-centred, developmentally appropriate Music curriculum from Years 7–12, grounded in a Christian worldview.
The successful applicant will oversee the College's curriculum design and implementation across all Music subject areas, ensuring alignment with the curriculum framework and the College's mission.
A key focus will be on fostering a consistent and coherent set of learning experiences that promote skill development, integration across disciplines and the use of diverse teaching and learning strategies.
The Head of Learning Area will also supervise and support teachers through professional development, performance management and curriculum planning.
They will monitor classroom delivery to ensure high standards of teaching, assessment and reporting, while encouraging innovation and continuous improvement.
The Head of Learning Area for Music will also lead the College's Instrumental Music Program across Primary and Secondary campuses, overseeing a team of tutors and coordinating tutor new appointments, induction, scheduling, attendance and student progress.
The role includes developing a whole-College vision for Music, fostering collaborative and distinctly Christian learning experiences, and supporting music events and performances across the College.
The Head of Learning area will be part of the Secondary leadership team and will contribute to College-wide initiatives, participate in Curriculum Team meetings and lead Learning Area contributions to strategic and operational plans.
The role includes responsibility for managing the Learning Area budget and maintaining a positive, collaborative Christian culture within the team.
The ability to teach up to FTE 0.5 as a component of this senior role is stipulated.
