Chef (Full -time) (Demi or Chef De Partie)

An exciting opportunity is now available for a passionate and talented Chef de Partie or Demi Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team at Mercure Kooindah Waters Resort.

/n

Reporting to the Sous Chef and Executive Chef, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional culinary experiences while supporting the smooth and efficient operation of the kitchen.

/n

About the Role

/n

This is a hands-on position ideal for a chef who thrives in a rapid-paced environment and enjoys variety across service periods, events, and outlets.

/n

You will be responsible for:

/n

/n

- Preparing and cooking high-quality dishes to a consistent standard

/n

- Working across multiple kitchen sections including grill, pans, larder and functions

/n

- Managing your section efficiently during service

/n

- Assisting with menu execution and contributing ideas for daily specials

/n

- Maintaining strict food safety, hygiene, and WHS standards

/n

- Supporting stock control, ordering, and minimising wastage

/n

- Ensuring all prep (mise en place) is completed to service requirements

/n

- Keeping all kitchen areas clean, organised, and compliant

/n/n

About You

/n

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

/n

/n

- Minimum 2 years' experience in a commercial kitchen

/n

- Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent)

/n

- Strong technical cooking skills and attention to detail

/n

- A genuine passion for food and presentation

/n





- Ability to work consistently under pressure while maintaining high standards

/n

- Excellent organisational and time management skills

/n

- A solid understanding of food safety standards

/n

- Flexibility to work across weekends, public holidays, and varying shifts

/n

- Current Australian work authorisation is essential for this position

/n/n
