About the role
The Midwife Educator is responsible for the design, implementation and evaluation of maternity education programs across Metro North Health and contributes to statewide simulation and education initiatives. Operating at an advanced practice level, the role provides expert midwifery leadership and educational support to promote evidence-based practice, workforce capability and high-quality care for women and babies.
The successful candidate will develop and maintain contemporary learning resources, facilitate education and professional development programs, support simulation-based learning activities and collaborate with multidisciplinary stakeholders. The role also contributes to research, evaluation and continuous improvement activities to ensure maternity education programs remain creative, effective and aligned with contemporary midwifery practice.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
- Design, implement and evaluate evidence-based maternity education programs and learning resources for the midwifery workforce.
- Provide advanced midwifery leadership and expertise to support education, workforce development and lifelong learning initiatives.
- Facilitate simulation-based training and educational activities that enhance clinical capability and improve outcomes for women and babies.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders to promote high-quality education, learning and professional development opportunities.
- Participate in research, program evaluation and quality improvement projects to support innovation and excellence in maternity education.
