Consultant Geriatrician
Join a progressive service delivering high-impact care to an ageing population, with flexibility, clinical variety, and genuine lifestyle balance.
The Opportunity
An excellent opportunity exists for a Consultant Geriatrician to join a well-established and expanding service focused on delivering comprehensive, patient-centred care to older adults. This role offers a diverse and rewarding scope of practice across acute geriatrics, subacute care, rehabilitation, and community-based services.
You will be involved in the assessment and management of complex, multi-morbid patients, with a solid emphasis on multidisciplinary care, discharge planning, and functional outcomes. There are opportunities to contribute to specialised services such as memory clinics, falls prevention, orthogeriatrics, perioperative medicine, and outreach programs.
The role provides a balance of inpatient and ambulatory care, with flexibility to shape your clinical interests and contribute to service development, education, and quality improvement initiatives. This is an ideal position for a consultant seeking both clinical depth and the ability to influence evolving models of geriatric care.
The Hospital
The service operates within a modern, well-resourced public hospital network, supported by strong multidisciplinary teams including allied health, nursing, and junior medical staff. Facilities include dedicated geriatric and rehabilitation wards, outpatient clinics, and close integration with community and aged care services.
You will join a collaborative and forward-thinking department with a strong focus on clinical excellence, innovation in aged care delivery, and ongoing service expansion. Teaching and supervision of junior doctors and medical students is a key component, supported by links to academic institutions.
The health service continues to invest in infrastructure and models of care to meet the growing demand of an ageing population,
providing a stable and future-focused working environment.
