We are seeking a OO5 Ranger to join the Bribie Island team. This role is responsible for staff supervision, workplace health and safety, natural resource and visitor management, infrastructure maintenance, and the efficient allocation of resources to deliver operational work programs. The position provides leadership to a field-based team, coordinates compliance and enforcement activities, and builds positive relationships with staff, stakeholders and visitors. Significant experience in compliance, resource management, procurement and operational planning is required. Working in a high-use recreation area, the role has a robust focus on visitor engagement, education and compliance patrols. The successful applicant will be a motivated leader, effective communicator and collaborative team member dedicated to protecting natural values while enhancing visitor experiences.

This position is responsible for management of the Bribie Island Recreation Area, Pumicestone Passage section of Moreton Bay Marine Park.



Experience in staff supervision, leadership, workplace health and safety, natural resource management, infrastructure development and maintenance, visitor management, procurement and allocation of resources to support work program delivery and high level of experience in field-based compliance and enforcement are key requirements of the role.

The successful applicant will require the ability to communicate clearly and maintain a positive and supportive approach within a team environment.

The Bribie Island Recreation Area including the Pumicestone Passage are high visitation areas where there is a strong focus on regular visitor compliance including patrols. This role is required to work on weekends and during school holidays.
