- Paying $600 + super per day
- Parramatta NSW location with hybrid working flexibility as part of the position

About the Role

Our client is a well known NSW state government organisation based in Parramatta NSW. They are currently seeking a Payroll Officer to come in and work with them on a 3-6 month temp assignment with high potential for extension or permanent conversion.

Requirements for this role include:

- Previous high volume end to end payroll processing experience

- Dayforce payroll system experience OR HCM cloud system experience

- Previous government experience (Desirable, but not essential)

Key responsibilities include:

- Payroll Processing: Process timely, accurate payroll across EAs and contracts, validating timesheets, leave, deductions, garnishings, superannuation, and payment files.
- Compliance & Governance: Ensure adherence to labor laws, enterprise agreements, and internal policies, while managing audit queries, final pays, and STP reporting.
- Advisory & Query Management: Resolve Tier 1 and Tier 2 payroll queries within SLAs, offering clear guidance on leave, pay calculations, and People & Culture policies.
- Complex Transactions & Reporting:



Handle off-cycle runs, overpayment recoveries, workers' compensation, lump sums, and ad-hoc or variance reporting.
- System Support & Process Improvement: Assist with payroll system upgrades, testing, and reconciliations while identifying ways to improve process efficiency and accuracy.
- Teamwork & Operational Support: Collaborate across HR and finance teams to support peak workloads, assist with task allocation, and uphold organisational values.
