Key Responsibilities:

The Cloud Architect is responsible for defining and governing the cloud strategy, architecture, standards, and roadmap for the RegApps portfolio. The role will lead cloud transformation initiatives, ensure secure and resilient AWS platform adoption, and drive modernization of applications, infrastructure, DevOps practices, observability, and operational excellence.

This role partners with Platform Engineering, Tooling, and Application teams to deliver stable, scalable, and low-toil platform operations while continually improving observability, automation, and recovery readiness.

- Define and maintain cloud architecture principles, standards, reference architectures, and design patterns across the RegApps portfolio.
- Develop cloud transformation and modernization roadmaps aligned to business and technology strategy
- Lead solution architecture reviews and provide governance for cloud implementations across projects and programs.
- Design and govern AWS infrastructure and platform services including EKS, EC2, VPC, Route53, Transit Gateway, S3, RDS, IAM, Lambda, CloudWatch, and related services.
- Establish secure cloud architecture patterns incorporating Identity and Access Management (IAM), encryption,



secrets management, network segmentation, and security best practices.
- Drive application modernization initiatives including containerization, cloud-native architectures, microservices adoption, and serverless computing.
- Collaborate with Platform Engineering teams to improve scalability, resilience, automation, recovery readiness, and operational excellence.
- Support application onboarding to cloud platforms and ensure adherence to architecture, security, operational readiness, and compliance standards.
- Partner with DevOps and SRE teams to improve reliability through observability, proactive monitoring, incident prevention, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Define observability strategies across metrics, logs, traces, dashboards, and alerting capabilities using tools such as Dynatrace, CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK/OpenSearch.
- Collaborate with Cyber Security teams to ensure compliance with enterprise, government, and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in Architecture Review Boards (ARB), Change Advisory Boards (CAB), technical governance forums, and strategic planning activities.
- Create and maintain architecture artefacts, reference designs, standards, runbooks, technical documentation, and knowledge repositories.
- Identify technology risks, technical debt, and improvement opportunities, and establish remediation roadmaps
