About the role

The Senior Research Fellow - Human Factors leads and contributes to research activities within the Clinical Skills Development Service (CSDS), supporting the advancement of healthcare education, simulation, and clinical skills training. Working closely with the Manager, Research, the role is responsible for developing and delivering high-quality research projects, producing scholarly publications, securing research funding, and contributing to the growth of research capacity across the service.

The successful candidate will lead research studies from design through to dissemination, including ethics submissions, data collection, analysis, reporting, and publication. They will also provide specialist research training and supervision to students and emerging researchers, collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, and contribute to innovative, interprofessional research initiatives that improve healthcare education and patient outcomes.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

- Lead and contribute to the design, implementation and publication of research projects focused on clinical skills training, simulation-based education and human factors.
- Prepare research proposals, funding applications, ethics and governance submissions,



while ensuring accurate research documentation and data management practices.
- Analyse and interpret research data, including producing descriptive and inferential statistical reports for peer-reviewed publications, presentations and stakeholder reporting.
- Provide research education, mentoring and supervision to postgraduate students, novice researchers and multidisciplinary team members.
- Build collaborative partnerships with academic institutions, healthcare consumers and internal and external stakeholders to strengthen research capability and identify funding, training and innovation opportunities.
