About the Position:

We are seeking a Laboratory Assistant to join our team at the Callide Mine Site on a permanent full-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and a commitment to safety and quality.

Working on a rotating lifestyle roster (day and night shifts), you'll play a key role in supporting coal sampling, testing, and laboratory operations while contributing to the success of our site.

Your key responsibilities

As a Laboratory Assistant, your day-to-day duties will include:

Performing manual handling tasks in a safe and efficient manner

Conducting routine coal sampling and testing

Performing physical tests including, crushing, and dividing samples

Coal preparation activities

Loading and unloading samples from various plant streams

Assisting with sample preparation and analysis

Carrying out general laboratory duties

Maintaining laboratory equipment and work areas

Adhering to site safety procedures and quality standards

Collaborating with team members across multiple sites as required

Travelling between mine sites, day & night when required.

About You

Flexibility to work additional shifts as needed





Current and valid Driver's Licence

Ability to wear and work in full PPE

Physical fitness to undertake manual handling activities in frequent hot conditions

Basic computer skills with email, excel and data entry.

Desirable (but not essential)

Previous experience working in a laboratory environment

Experience within mining, coal preparation, or resource industries

Sample preparation and testing experience
