Our venue partner, Soulte, is a hospitality business operating in Australia, offering a diverse menu of breakfast and lunch items, freshly baked pastries, croissants, breads, cakes, desserts, specialty beverages, and catering services.
The business has an ongoing need for a Pastry Cooks due to its daily production of fresh pastry and bakery products, including croissants, sweet and savoury pastries, breads, tarts, cakes, cheesecakes, and other desserts. The Pastry Cook is essential to support the business's daily production requirements and maintain the quality, freshness, consistency, presentation, and timely availability of its pastry products.
The role also supports customer and catering demand, ensuring that Soulte can consistently deliver its range of freshly prepared pastry and dessert products while maintaining food safety and production standards.
Salary: $78,000 – $83,000 AUD
Location: Tenancy 121/33 Village Circuit, Gregory Hills NSW 2557
Key Responsibilities:
1. Prepare and bake a variety of pastries, cakes, breads, and desserts.
2. Measure and mix ingredients accurately according to recipes.
3. Decorate and present pastries and desserts to required standards.
4. Operate and maintain ovens, mixers,
and other pastry equipment safely.
5. Maintain proper food hygiene, sanitation, and workplace safety standards.
6. Monitor ingredient stock, minimize waste, and maintain a clean and organized workstation.
7. Keep the pastry section clean, organized, and ready for daily production.
8. Ensure consistent quality, taste, texture, and appearance of all pastry products.
Skills & Experience Required
1. Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in a commercial pastry kitchen, bakery, or high-volume dessert section (or similar).
2. Proven ability to produce pastry items with precision, including consistent portioning, baking techniques, and finishing/presentation.
3. Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene standards, allergen handling, and protected work practices (HACCP exposure preferred).
4. Excellent time management and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet service deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
5. Strong attention to detail and pride in producing high-quality, visually appealing products.
6. Clear communication and teamwork skills, with a reliable and professional attitude.
