Catherine McAuley College Bendigo is a flourishing Catholic secondary school inspired by the Mercy tradition and committed to educational excellence, student wellbeing and community. We are seeking an experienced and passionate Senior French Teacher to join our languages team in 2027. This position includes teaching French in the senior years, including VCE French, and is an outstanding opportunity for an educator committed to academic excellence and language learning.
About the Role
The successful applicant will:
- Teach French in the senior years, including VCE French.
- Foster student confidence in language acquisition, communication and intercultural understanding.
- Prepare students for success in senior secondary French studies and external assessments.
- Design engaging and academically rigorous language learning experiences.
- Contribute positively to the Languages Learning Area and broader College community.
- Support the Catholic and Mercy ethos of the College.
About You
You are an educator who:
- Demonstrates experience teaching French in the senior years, including VCE French, or the capacity to successfully teach at VCE level.
- Possesses strong curriculum, assessment and reporting knowledge for senior secondary studies.
- Builds positive and productive relationships with students, families and colleagues.
- Uses contemporary and engaging language teaching practices.
- Is committed to child safety and student wellbeing.
Essential Requirements
- Current Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration.
- Demonstrated capacity to teach Indonesian across Years 7-12.
- Strong language proficiency and intercultural understanding.
- Knowledge of Victorian Curriculum requirements for Languages.
- Commitment to child safety, student wellbeing and inclusive education.
- Capacity to support and uphold the Catholic and Mercy ethos of the College.
