We are looking for dedicated, hardworking, and energetic people to join our growing family. Be part of a busy team counting & sorting 10c deposit containers for the public. For the right person there is also the possibility of working in our scrap metal area.
Pooraka Bottle & Can Recycling has been in business for almost 40 years and has grown into one of the biggest recycling depots in Northern Adelaide. We have a fantastic reputation for customer service, and all staff are fully trained in how to count and sort products correctly. We operate 7 days a week and are extremely busy on weekends.
Duties will include but are not limited to:
- General yard duties
- Interaction with residential and commercial customers helping to unload and sort their materials
- Repetitive manual work including heavy lifting and assorting miscellaneous materials
- Maintenance and cleaning of the recycling yard
- Assisting others where required
- Use of power tools and heavy machinery
The successful candidate will possess the following:
- Good math skills as most of the duties are counting bottles and cans
- Physically capable to perform manual labouring tasks as it is very labor intensive
- Be confident dealing directly with the public
- Must have positive work ethics, be punctual, reliable, well-presented and be able to take direction easily
- Have knowledge and understanding of safety in the workplace
- Current Forklift licence (LF) - optional
