About the Role

As a Solicitor IV you'll provide legal advice and representation to clients of Legal Aid NSW, including complex casework services, in accordance with Legal Aid NSW policies and guidelines in order to contribute to the implementation of Legal Aid NSW's mission to deliver high quality legal services to our clients and to assist them to resolve their legal problems. Supervise and lead junior legal staff in achieving this aim.

About You

You are a motivated and client-focused legal professional with demonstrated experience delivering high-quality legal services in a complex and fast-paced environment. You have sound legal judgement, strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a high-volume caseload while maintaining professional standards,



attention to detail and a commitment to achieving positive outcomes for clients. You communicate effectively with a diverse range of people, including vulnerable clients and those with complex needs, and can explain complex legal concepts in a clear, practical and respectful manner.

You are adaptable, resilient and committed to continuous improvement, with the ability to embrace new technologies, systems and ways of working. You contribute positively to team outcomes through collaboration, knowledge sharing and mentoring of colleagues, and are committed to ongoing professional development to maintain contemporary legal knowledge and best practice. For leadership roles, you will have experience supporting and developing staff, promoting wellbeing, and fostering a positive and high-performing team culture.

Essential Requirements

- Be admitted or eligible for admission as a legal practitioner in NSW

- Provide a current NSW Practising Certificate before you start work with us

- NSW Drivers Licence

- Be willing to travel to regional and metropolitan offices as required





- Hold Australian or NZ citizenship or Australian Permanent Residency (for ongoing roles) or a valid visa to work in Australia (for temporary roles)

- Willingness to undertake relevant pre-employment checks such as Working with Children Check, Criminal Record Check, and Conduct Service Check
