CIMIC Group is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to manage project cost control, revenue management and forecasting, as well as providing technical engineering solutions and assistance to site.

About the Role

Provide engineering and project support to achieve business objectives through effective planning, forecasting, and financial administration. Responsibilities include preparing tenders, reports, budgets, and specifications, as well as managing the procurement and disposal of assets. The role also ensures compliance with all relevant legislative requirements, company standards, business processes, and Group policies while supporting the successful delivery of projects and operational initiatives.

Your key responsibilities will include:

- Conduct engineering assessments and implement plant modifications to meet statutory, client, and regulatory authority requirements.

- Develop and maintain accurate plant hire rates to support operational activities, budgeting, and tender submissions.

- Assist with developing business cases for capex justifications.

- Maintain project documentation, records, and document control systems to ensure accuracy, traceability, and compliance.

- Prepare plant and labour cost estimates to support tender reviews and project planning activities.

- Provide technical engineering expertise and practical solutions to site based teams and operational stakeholders.

- Support project planning, scheduling, and resource allocation activities as required.

- Mentor and provide technical guidance, training, and support to site personnel and graduate engineers.

- Compile and evaluate technical data, specifications,



and supporting documentation from OEMs, suppliers, and contractors.

- Build and maintain robust working relationships with site personnel, suppliers, contractors, and other key stakeholders.

- Develop, maintain, and improve engineering systems, processes, procedures, and data integrity.

- Deliver training and support to site personnel in the effective use of the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

- Prepare comprehensive reviews, analyses, and recommendations on complex plant and asset management matters.

- Provide operational and engineering support across various site roles when required.

- Assist the National Engineering & Compliance Manager and broader Group Engineering team in delivering strategic and operational objectives.

- Manage and coordinate subcontractors and suppliers to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant execution of work.

- Promote and uphold a strong culture of safety, compliance, continuous improvement, and operational excellence across all activities

About You – Qualifications & Experience

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

- Tertiary (Bachelor) degree in Engineering (preferably Mechanical)

- Demonstrated understanding of Engineering principles

- Experience within the construction, mining & resources, rail, transport, or engineering industries (project experience) preferable

- Strong understanding of asset management from a "Whole of Life" perspective.

- Strong understanding of the financial requirement of asset management

- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills

- Experienced in maintenance management systems. (JDE Desirable)

- Good understanding and experience in site-based roles and responsibilities.

- Strong understanding of technologies within the industry

- Exposure to mobile assets in a Civil site environment

- Demonstrated proficiency in the use of digital technologies, business systems, and engineering software applications.

- Ability to adapt and perform effectively in a fast-paced and evolving environment, managing changing priorities and competing deadlines.
