The Role
We are seeking an experienced Service Supervisor to join our Penrith team. This position plays a key leadership role in ensuring the effective and safe operation of the workshop while maintaining the highest standards of workmanship, quality control and customer satisfaction.
You will work closely with the Branch Manager to coordinate workshop activities, supervise technicians, manage customer expectations and drive productivity across the service department.
The successful applicant will oversee the installation, servicing and repair of vehicle loading cranes, truck-mounted equipment and related lifting equipment, while ensuring compliance with company and manufacturer standards. Full product familiarisation training is available if required.
Key Responsibilities
· Coordinate and supervise daily workshop operations.
· Schedule installations, servicing and repair work to meet customer and business requirements.
· Allocate labour and resources to maximise workshop efficiency.
· Supervise technicians and apprentices, providing leadership and technical guidance.
· Monitor workflow, quality control and job completion timeframes.
· Ensure all work complies with manufacturer specifications and applicable standards.
· Assist with technical troubleshooting and complex repairs.
· Support the completion of quotations and repair estimates.
· Maintain strong customer relationships and provide technical advice where required.
· Promote workplace safety, workshop organisation and continuous improvement initiatives.
Skills and Experience
· Trade qualification in a mechanical field such as Heavy Vehicle Mechanic, Diesel Fitter, Mobile Plant Mechanic, Fitter & Turner, Auto Electrician or similar.
· Previous leadership or supervisory experience within a workshop environment.
· Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
· Experience with hydraulic systems and heavy equipment.
· Experience with cranes, lifting equipment, mobile plant or truck-mounted equipment is desirable.
· Strong communication and customer service skills.
· Good organisational and time management skills.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· Current Australian Driver Licence.
