The Opportunity
We are seeking a Precedent & Knowledge Coordinator to join our Systems and Training team in Sydney. Working closely with lawyers, legal support staff, business services teams and technology vendors, you will support and improve the firm's business systems, document automation solutions, precedents, workflows and AI initiatives
This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys technology, systems, process improvement and helping people get the most from the tools they use every day. You will play an important role in troubleshooting issues, delivering training, supporting system enhancements and contributing to continuous improvement projects across the firm.
This role may particularly appeal to an experienced Legal Assistant, Knowledge Coordinator, Precedent Coordinator or similar legal support professional looking to transition into a dedicated Legal Technology and Business Systems career path.
Your Role
- Support the planning, implementation and continuous improvement of firm-wide technology initiatives
- Configure, maintain and support key business systems and automation tools
- Troubleshoot system, workflow and process issues across multiple platforms
- Deliver training and day-to-day support to staff, explaining technical concepts in a clear and practical way
- Assist with maintaining and developing document automation, precedents and workflow solutions
- Support AI, automation and innovation initiatives across the firm
- Maintain user guides, support materials and knowledge resources
- Perform system testing and assist with upgrades, releases and enhancements
- Assist with improving user experience across business systems, forms and workflows
- Liaise with technology vendors, consultants and internal stakeholders to support successful delivery of initiatives
- Provide a high level of service to internal stakeholders and contribute to continuous improvement across systems and processes

- Maintaining precedents, document templates and automation solutions
- Supporting workflow and process improvement initiatives
- Delivering training, onboarding and system support
- Assisting with AI and automation adoption across the firm
- Supporting system enhancements, testing and continuous improvement activities
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Experience in a Legal Assistant, Knowledge, Training, Applications Support, Systems Support or similar role
- Experience in a legal or professional services environment
- A genuine interest in technology, systems and process improvement
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting capabilities
- A proactive and service-focused mindset
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to support non-technical users
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- The ability to learn new technology platforms and systems quickly
- Confidence working with a variety of stakeholders across the business
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills
- The ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative team
Desirable
- Exposure to business systems, document management systems or knowledge platforms
- Experience with Aderant Expert, iManage or similar business systems
- Experience using automation or workflow tools such as Power Automate, Power Apps or similar low-code/no-code platforms
- Exposure to document automation, precedents or knowledge management
- Experience delivering training or supporting user adoption of technology
- Exposure to AI, automation or digital transformation initiatives
