About the role

We are seeking a Plumbing Supplies Counter Assistant to join the team at Cass Brothers - Bathroom, Kitchen and Plumbing Supplies. This is a full-time position based at our Petersham NSW location. As a Counter Assistant, you will be the face of our business, providing exceptional customer service to both trade and retail customers whilst managing counter operations efficiently.

Key responsibilities

- Providing friendly, knowledgeable and efficient customer service to customers at the sales counter

- Processing sales transactions accurately

- Locating and retrieving plumbing supplies and products from stock to fulfil customer orders

- Assisting customers with technical enquiries about plumbing and bathroom products

- Keeping the counter area clean, organised and well-stocked throughout the day

- Managing customer orders and ensuring accurate picking and packing of items

- Supporting the wider team with stock management

- Building positive relationships with regular customers and trade professionals

What we're looking for

- Prior experience in a retail environment or customer-facing role, preferably in the plumbing, bathroom, kitchen or building supplies sector

- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with diverse customers

- Basic numeracy and proficiency with point-of-sale (POS) systems

- Physical capability to lift and carry items of varying weights and sizes

- Attention to detail and accuracy when processing orders





- A proactive approach to problem-solving and willingness to assist colleagues

- Reliable, punctual and committed to delivering excellent customer service

- Knowledge of plumbing products and industry terminology is advantageous but not essential as training will be provided
