About the role:

Sunnybank Private Hospital are currently seeking an experienced Allied Health Assistant to provide clinical and administrative assistance and support to our Allied Health Professionals to ensure the delivery of a high-quality rehabilitation and acute services.

Sunnybank Private Hospital is a 111-bed facility located on the Southside of Brisbane, offering acute medical, surgical, and rehabilitation services. Sunnybank Private Hospital (SPH) is a vibrant and committed hospital that provides a range of coordinated healthcare services designed to deliver and improve the health and wellbeing of the community it serves. It is situated approximately 13 kilometres south of the Brisbane CBD and is the first Private Hospital north of the Gold Coast.

Key Responsibilities:

- Support members of the Allied Health team to provide a high standard of clinical care to patients/families
- Work under the direction and supervision of physiotherapists, occupational therapists and speech pathologists to help clients achieve their rehabilitation goals
- Assist with transfers, mobility and transport of patients
- ADL retraining including showering, dressing, toileting and task retraining activities
- Set up and cleaning of a variety of equipment used for patient care and of environment
- Participate in quality improvement activities and initiatives
- Supervise/assist exercise programs devised by the treating allied health team

Essential Criteria:

- Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Ability to prioritise workload, meet deadlines, manage time effectively and complete activities
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy and Speech Pathology roles
- Experience working with or providing care to frail/aged/disabled people in a health care setting or a basic understanding of exercise programs
