Krueger Transport Equipment is looking for an experienced Leading Hand Service Technician (Fabrication) to join our Salisbury workshop.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll work alongside our fabrication team while helping coordinate day-to-day workshop activities, providing technical guidance and ensuring jobs are completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
If you're an experienced Boilermaker, Fabricator or Vehicle Body Builder who enjoys being on the tools but is ready to take on greater responsibility and lead from the front, this could be the opportunity for you.
What You'll Be Doing
- Leading, supporting and working alongside a team of Service Technicians.
- Allocating daily tasks and helping manage workshop workflow and priorities.
- Providing hands-on technical support, coaching and guidance to team members.
- Fabricating, welding, assembling and fitting heavy vehicle bodies and components.
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications and job instructions.
- Troubleshooting fabrication issues and finding practical solutions.
- Inspecting completed work to ensure quality and specification requirements are met.
- Participating in toolbox talks, risk assessments and other safety activities.
- Leading by example when it comes to safety, quality and workmanship.
About You
- A recognised Australian trade qualification (or equivalent) as a Boilermaker, Fabricator or Vehicle Body Builder.
- Strong experience in vehicle body building, heavy fabrication, trailer manufacturing or transport equipment.
- Proven MIG and/or TIG welding skills.
- The ability to confidently read and interpret technical drawings and fabrication plans.
- Previous Leading Hand or supervisory experience highly regarded.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and practical problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience within a manufacturing, transport or heavy industrial environment.
- A strong commitment to workplace safety and producing quality work.
