We are seeking an experienced Medical Lead to support a leading offshore Oil & Gas workforce from a Perth-based position. Reporting into the Onshore HSE Team, this role provides specialist medical and occupational health leadership across offshore and onshore operations.

Client Details

The Medical Lead will be responsible for ensuring effective medical support, health management and emergency preparedness while driving continuous improvement, compliance and strong clinical standards.

Description

Medical Governance & Occupational Health

- Lead the development, implementation and continuous improvement of occupational health, medical management and injury management systems.
- Provide specialist advice across occupational health, clinical governance, workforce wellbeing and medical risk management.
- Develop, maintain and review medical, occupational health, injury management and emergency response procedures.
- Maintain appropriate medical records and health information in accordance with privacy legislation and professional standards.
- Monitor medical performance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

Offshore Medical Support

- Provide functional leadership and support to offshore Medics and HSE Advisors.
- Ensure consistent clinical standards, medical reporting and medical management across offshore assets.
- Manage relationships with Company Medical Officers and external occupational health providers.
- Coordinate fitness-for-work assessments, medical surveillance and health screening programs.
- Ensure medical services align with operational risks, regulatory requirements and industry standards.

Injury Management & Workforce Wellbeing

- Lead workplace injury management and return-to-work processes.
- Support injured employees and operational leaders to achieve safe and sustainable recovery outcomes.
- Review injury and illness data to identify trends and develop preventative strategies.
- Support early intervention for occupational injuries, illness and psychosocial health concerns.
- Contribute to workforce wellbeing initiatives focused on physical health, mental health and workforce fitness.

Emergency Response & MEDEVAC

- Develop and maintain medical emergency response standards, procedures and capabilities.
- Ensure appropriate medical equipment,



resources and response arrangements are maintained.
- Coordinate medical evacuation planning and preparedness activities.
- Plan, facilitate and review medical emergency response exercises.
- Capture lessons learned and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Participate in the Incident Management Team roster, providing specialist medical and occupational health advice during emergencies and crisis situations.

Risk, Assurance & Continuous Improvement

- Support investigations into occupational health incidents, injuries and medical events.
- Identify root causes and develop corrective and preventative actions.
- Support occupational health risk assessments and exposure management programs.
- Identify and monitor workplace health hazards and ensure appropriate controls are implemented.
- Monitor emerging health risks and industry best practice.
- Drive continuous improvement across medical and occupational health systems.

Key Stakeholder Relationships

The Medical Lead will work closely with:

- Onshore HSE leadership
- Offshore Medics and HSE Advisors
- Operations and site leadership
- Company Medical Officers
- External occupational health providers
- Employees and supervisors
- Emergency response teams
- Incident Management Team members

Profile

Required Experience & Qualifications

- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse or Paramedic.
- Experience within Oil & Gas, offshore, LNG or comparable remote resources medical/HSE environments.
- Strong occupational health and medical management experience.
- Experience with injury management and return-to-work processes.
- Understanding of fitness-for-work programs and medical surveillance.
- Experience supporting emergency medical preparedness and response.
- Exposure to MEDEVAC planning, emergency response exercises or major incident response.
- Ability to provide functional leadership to offshore medical personnel.




- Solid stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to provide credible medical advice to operational, HSE and senior leadership teams.

Highly Regarded Experience

- Previous offshore medical operations experience.
- Experience managing medical contractors, Company Medical Officers or external occupational health providers.
- Clinical governance and medical assurance experience.
- MEDEVAC planning and emergency management experience.
- Health risk assessment and occupational hygiene exposure management.
- Psychosocial risk and workforce wellbeing experience.
- Incident Management Team participation.
- Qualifications or training in WHS, injury management, emergency management, ICAM, MIMMS or similar.
