Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced Structural Steel Production Welder to join our workshop team.
About the Role
This is a permanent full time afternoon shift position based in our Tottenham workshop.
Our day shift fabrication team prepares, fits and tacks structural steel assemblies throughout the day. As part of our dedicated afternoon welding team, your primary responsibility will be completing high quality MIG welds on these assemblies to engineering drawings and company quality standards.
This role is ideal for experienced welders who enjoy spending their shift welding rather than fabricating.
Monday to Friday, 3:30pm to 11:30pm
You will be welding structural steel components including columns, beams, base plates, cleats and connection assemblies to engineering drawings and company quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- MIG welding structural steel components and assemblies
- Completing fillet and butt welds to specification
- Reading and interpreting fabrication drawings
- Inspecting completed welds to ensure quality standards are met
- Working closely with the fabrication team to maintain production schedules
- Operating welding equipment safely and efficiently
- Maintaining a clean and organised work area
- Following all workplace health and safety procedures
About You
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Previous experience welding structural steel
- Strong MIG welding skills
- Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings
- High attention to detail and pride in workmanship
- Ability to work both independently and within a team
- Reliable, punctual and motivated
- Forklift license (advantageous)
- Overhead crane experience (advantageous)
- Fabrication Experience (Advantageous)

Recruitment Process
Shortlisted applicants will be invited to attend an interview and complete a practical welding assessment.
The welding assessment will take approximately 15-30 minutes and is designed to assess welding quality, workmanship and attention to detail.
Please bring your own welding helmet, gloves and any other personal welding PPE you require.
