About the Monash Children's Health & Wellbeing Local

Monash Children’s Health and Wellbeing Local (Monash Children’s Local) is an innovative, interdisciplinary, one-stop service designed to improve the health and wellbeing of children and families across Melbourne’s south-east.

Led by MonashChildren’s, the service brings together community health, mental health and family support services, providing early intervention, assessment and treatment for children and their families in a welcoming, accessible setting. Families can access a range of specialist medical and allied health services, including paediatricians, child psychiatrist occupational therapists, psychologists and speech pathologists, alongside parenting and family supports through collaboration with Windermere Family Services. Our collaborative approach ensures services are responsive, culturally safe and tailored to local needs.

As a truly innovative model of care, the Monash Children’s Local represents a significant shift in how services are delivered — focused on early intervention, integration and measurable outcomes for children and families.

About the Role

We have an opportunity for a Mental Health Clinician to join the Children's Health & Wellbeing Local, on a 0.6 EFT (3 days per week), ongoing basis.

Working within an innovative early intervention service, you'll support children and families through assessment, therapeutic intervention and care coordination, while working collaboratively with schools, community agencies and the wider multidisciplinary team.



This varied role combines clinical work with systems support, giving you the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and families every day. You'll be based across Cranbourne Integrated Care or Windermere (Narre Warren), with the primary location being negotiated to suit the successful applicant.

This role will see you:

- Provide mental health assessment, formulation and therapeutic intervention
- Coordinate care and support families throughout their journey with the service
- Work collaboratively with children, families, schools and community agencies
- Provide consultation and therapeutic support to the systems surrounding each child
- Deliver discipline‑specific assessment and intervention as required
- Work across clinic-based appointments and community outreach (travel reimbursed)
- Provide support both in-clinic and through outreach as needed.

This position is open to Psychology (Grade 2), Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology, and Registered Psychiatric Nursing disciplines, Grade 3.

About You

You're a passionate mental health clinician who enjoys working collaboratively with children, families and multidisciplinary teams to achieve meaningful outcomes. You'll bring:

- Experience working with children and families within a mental health setting
- Strong assessment, formulation and therapeutic intervention skills
- Experience managing clinical complexity and risk
- Excellent communication and collaborative practice skills
- A commitment to early intervention and family‑centred care
- A genuine passion for continuous learning and professional development
