Kilkivan Auto Centre is seeking a skilled and dedicated Light Vehicle Mechanic to join our team in Kilkivan, QLD. This is a full-time position offering the opportunity to work in a dynamic automotive environment where your expertise will be valued and your technical skills put to good use. As a Light Vehicle Mechanic, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the quality and safety standards of our service offerings, ensuring that every vehicle that leaves our centre meets our high standards of workmanship. This position is integral to our business operations and customer satisfaction.

What you'll be doing

- Diagnosing vehicle mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic equipment and technical knowledge
- Performing routine maintenance services including oil changes, filter replacements, brake inspections and fluid top-ups
- Repairing and replacing vehicle components such as engines, transmissions, suspension systems and brake systems
- Conducting pre-delivery inspections and safety checks on vehicles
- Maintaining accurate records of work performed and parts used for each vehicle
- Communicating with customers regarding repair requirements, timeframes and cost estimates
- Following all workplace health and safety procedures and maintaining a clean, organised workshop environment
- Collaborating with team members to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of repairs
- Keeping up-to-date with new vehicle technologies and repair techniques

What we're looking for





- A recognised automotive trade qualification or equivalent experience in light vehicle mechanical repair
- Sound knowledge of vehicle mechanical and electrical systems
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools and workshop equipment
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Current Australian driver's licence (HR licence is a bonus!)
- A commitment to workplace health and safety standards
