Aligned Search is partnering with a well-established organisation based in Sydney CBD, to recruit an experienced Payroll Manager. This role will take ownership of the end-to-end payroll function for approximately 700 employees on a weekly cycle. This is a hands‑on leadership role where you’ll manage both onshore and offshore team members, ensuring seamless payroll delivery and continuous process improvement.

About the role:

- Oversee the accurate and timely processing of weekly payroll for 700 employees
- Lead, mentor, and develop a distributed payroll team (onshore & offshore)
- Ensure compliance with SCHADS and Nurses Awards, including complex interpretations
- Manage payroll queries, escalations, and stakeholder communication
- Drive process improvements, controls, and efficiencies across the function
- Partner with HR and Finance to support broader business objectives

About You





- Proven experience as a Payroll Manager or Senior Payroll Lead in a high-volume environment
- Strong working knowledge of SCHADS and/or Nurses Award interpretation
- Experience managing both local and offshore payroll teams
- Hands‑on approach with excellent attention to detail
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- A continuous improvement mindset with a focus on governance and compliance
