St Andrew’s College is a world-class University College within the University of Sydney, providing 400 residential students breakfast, lunch and dinner seven days a week. We cater for up to 500 events a year, from VIP lunches for 2 guests, up to 400 sit-down dinner guests.
The College is seeking a Chef/Cook to support the day-to-day operations of the kitchen through bulk batch cooking and food preparation. The role will work across a 7-day roster, breakfast, lunch and dinner, with the flexibility to accept additional shifts as and when they become available.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Preparation and cooking of bulk batch meals
- Food preparation for functions
- Receiving, storing, handling, sorting and distributing food items
- Ensuring the kitchen is maintained in a clean and sanitary condition
- Implementing all hygiene and Health & Safety regulations
The successful applicant must have:
- Commercial Cookery qualifications (or equivalent to Australian standards)
- Current experience working in a high-volume food service venue, function centre, hotel, restaurant or other commercial kitchen workplace
- Possess a team player focus and able to work towards College goals and objectives
- Ability to follow directives and a willingness to learn new skills
- Have full working rights in Australia
