About the role

Abstec Calibrations Australia Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Electrical Calibration Technician to join our team in Beverley, South Australia. This is a full-time position based at our facility in Beverley SA 5009. As an Electrical Calibration Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of electrical and electronic equipment through precise calibration and testing.

Key responsibilities

- Performing calibration and testing of electrical and electronic instruments, including multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other precision equipment

- Operating calibration standards and measurement equipment in accordance with industry standards and accreditation requirements

- Recording calibration data, utilising Fluke MET/CAL software to prepare test reports and documentation with meticulous attention to detail

- Experience with or the ability to learn coding Fluke MET/CAL calibration procedures

- Liaising with clients regarding equipment calibration status, timelines and any technical issues

- Troubleshooting equipment faults and identifying appropriate remedial actions

- Maintaining a safe and compliant working workplace within the laboratory

- Following ISO/IEC 17025 requirements, quality assurance procedures and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives

- Supporting the calibration team with equipment handling, logistics and general laboratory operations

What we're looking for

- A recognised qualification in Electrical Engineering, Electronics or a related discipline, alternatively relevant trade qualification, for example restricted or full Electrical License.

- Demonstrated experience in calibration procedures, electrical measurement and test equipment operation

- Strong understanding of electrical principles and measurement techniques

- Experience using precision measurement instruments and calibration equipment would be advantageous

- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to maintain high standards of accuracy





- Competence or the ability to learn technical documentation and report writing skills

- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team

- Valid driver's license

- Experience in an NATA-accredited laboratory environment would be advantageous

- Must hold Australian citizenship
