Brolga Cranes is seeking experienced Crane Operators - Riggers to join our team on a full-time basis in Gladstone, QLD 4680. This is a pivotal role within our construction operations, where you will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating cranes and managing rigging operations on various construction sites. As a Crane Operator - Rigger, you will play a critical role in ensuring that heavy lifting operations are executed with precision, safety, and professionalism. Your expertise will be fundamental to the success of our projects and the safety of our workforce.

What you'll be doing

- Operating mobile cranes and other lifting equipment in accordance with safety regulations and industry best practices
- Conducting pre-operation inspections and maintenance checks on all crane and rigging equipment
- Assessing load weights, rigging requirements, and site conditions to plan lifting operations safely and efficiently
- Setting up rigging equipment, including slings, shackles, spreader bars, and other lifting accessories
- Communicating effectively with site supervisors, spotters, and ground personnel using hand signals and radio communication
- Maintaining detailed records of crane operations, maintenance logs, and daily safety reports
- Identifying and reporting potential hazards, near-misses, and equipment defects to site management
- Complying with all relevant safety legislation, regulations, and company policies
- Contributing to a positive safety culture on site through active participation in toolbox talks and safety meetings

What we're looking for

- Valid High-Risk Work Licence (HRWL) or Licence to Operate (LTO) for cranes, or demonstrated ability to obtain one
- Proven experience as a Crane Operator and Rigger in construction or heavy industrial environments
- Sound knowledge of rigging practices, load calculations, and safe lifting procedures




- Understanding of relevant Australian Standards (AS/NZS) and workplace safety legislation
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot equipment issues
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills with the ability to work under supervision and independently
- Physical fitness and ability to work at heights, in varying weather conditions, and demanding environments
- Demonstrated commitment to safety and a willingness to follow safety protocols consistently
