We’re looking for Graduate Accountants and Graduate Auditors to join our Melbourne team on a full-time basis in February 2027 and start building rewarding careers in professional services. As part of our graduate program, you’ll join either our Business Services or Audit team, depending on your interests and preferred career pathway. Whichever path you choose, you’ll gain practical, hands-on experience working with a diverse range of clients and industries while developing your technical knowledge and professional skills.

From day one, you’ll work alongside experienced professionals and receive ongoing guidance, mentoring and technical training. You’ll also work closely with our Directors and senior team, contributing to meaningful client work and gaining exposure to complex business matters. You’ll be encouraged to ask questions, take on new challenges and build the confidence and capability to become a trusted professional.

Graduate Accountant | Business Services

As a Graduate Accountant, your responsibilities will include:

Assisting with the preparation of income tax returns and financial statements for individuals, companies, trusts and partnerships.

Supporting the preparation of Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) returns and Business Activity Statements (BAS).

Building your capability across leading accounting platforms including Xero, MYOB and QuickBooks.

Developing proficiency in Stannards’ internal systems and software, including XPM, Active Workpapers, Excel and FYI Docs.

Liaising with the ATO, SRO and other regulatory bodies.

Working with accuracy and attention to detail when preparing client information and completing data entry tasks.





Collaborating with team members to deliver high-quality outcomes and exceptional client service.

Continuously learning and developing your technical knowledge, professional skills and understanding of client needs.

Graduate

Auditor | Audit

As a Graduate Auditor, your responsibilities will include:

Assisting with the planning and completion of financial statement audits for clients across a range of industries.

Performing audit procedures, including substantive testing, analytical reviews and the assessment of internal controls.

Preparing clear, accurate and well-supported audit workpapers in accordance with Australian Auditing Standards and Stannards’ audit methodology.

Developing proficiency in Stannards’ internal systems and audit software, including MyWorkpapers, Excel and FYI Docs.

Reviewing financial statements and supporting documentation to identify discrepancies, risks and areas requiring further investigation.

Liaising with clients to obtain information, resolve queries and understand their business operations and financial processes.

Collaborating with team members to deliver high-quality audit outcomes within agreed deadlines.

Continuously developing your technical knowledge, professional judgement, communication skills and understanding of client needs.

You

We’re looking for final-year students or recent graduates completing a Commerce or Business degree with a major in Accounting. You’re a motivated and detail-oriented graduate who enjoys working with people, solving problems and learning through experience. You bring a proactive attitude, strong communication skills and a willingness to contribute as part of a collaborative team.
